Retailer Spotlight: Joie De Viv

Founded on the belief that jewelry should be luxurious, fun, ethical, and a part of the everyday, Vivian Weyll created Joie De Viv, a one-of-a-kind jewelry e-tailer experience designed for the modern woman. With inspiration drawn from the joyous moments in life, her team creates timeless pieces to endure using only the finest materials available paired with ethical, environmentally conscious practices that they can proudly stand beside.

Finding Herself In Her Business

Joie De Viv is Vivian’s newest baby, launching in October of 2019. She realized how much she loved creating jewelry in running a business with her ex-husband, and so she decided to launch her own line of jewelry that went along with what she wanted to do as a person.

“It was liberation and chaos,” Vivian said. “I was trying to find myself as a woman and a mom, leaving behind a multi-million dollar company, and at some point you have to choose between your family and your company. So I thought ‘I’m going to create a jewelry line that translates everything that I want, for me, for the world, and for women in general.”

braceletSustainable Jewelry for Every Type of Woman

Instead of simply producing jewelry, Joie De Viv creates elegant and uplifting adornments meant to accompany consumers on their journey, wherever they may go. Comprising a unique series of collections, each design is inspired by women of the world — travelers, adventure seekers, and dreamers, with each distinct piece corresponding to transcendent, elegant journeys.

Vivian says the company is in the process of launching a phenomenal, persian-inspired engagement ring line, with over 15 designs of wedding bands and rings. The new unique line should be launching within the next month, and all of the diamonds are sustainable. There are also many other designs on the pipeline, to be launched within the next six months, so there’s always something new for their customers to come back to.

“We are one of the very few companies out there that only work with lab grown diamonds,” Vivian said. “Every one of our sources are known by us, so we know where our supplies are coming from, where it’s being grown, the working conditions in the locations, and we see the diamonds before they go into the chamber.”

Another sustainable part of Joie De Viv is that all of their gold is 18k and recycled. Vivian explains that there is no such thing as plain gold, because no matter where that gold is being mined, the ecosystems in the surrounding areas are always devastated and mining can kill people. Recycling gold allows companies to utilize the same gold over and over again, since it can always go back to its original form and look brand new.

Staying Strong During COVID-19

Joie De Viv had a 50 percent discount running on their website for the past couple of months to help push some different lines because they can’t make enough jewelry at the moment. “Right now, a majority of our orders are all pre-orders for six weeks out, and because of COVID-19, eighth weeks is not enough time to deliver all of the items we’re selling. It’s a good problem to have, but we have to find that balance where we’re selling enough that we can also produce to be fully sustainable,” Vivian said.

Joie De Viv is the embodiment of the many stories and lives Vivian has lived. Along with each unique road, she has discovered new loves, new passions, a few heartaches, but always a unique joy completely her own.
