ASD Gears Up for the August Show

June 9, 2015 by Publisher

ASD to Host New TV Show The Big Pitch With Kevin HarringtonWith over 45,000 buyers in attendance in March 2015, ASD Market Week is determined to increase their numbers at every show. Preparing for the next event at the Las Vegas Convention Center from August 2-5, 2015, ASD is hard at work investing time and money into redefining their work into nine different shows. Known as the Affordable Shopping Destination, ASD has become a one stop-shopping target appealing to each subcategory of markets. From Fashion and Accessories and Beauty and Fragrance, to Toys and Novelties and Gift and Home, ASD Market Week provides the perfect opportunity to network, purchase new items and share your merchandise with others in the industry.

If attending ASD Market Week for the first time, Darnell Botts, Show Director of Fashion and Accessories and Beauty and Fragrance, suggests attending the “New to ASD Seminar” where you will learn how to walk the show floor and find exhibitors that fit your particular niche. “We have an average of 300 or more new ones per show. So, in an effort to make the show easier to navigate, we created stickers along the show floor, and these direct the buyers to the types of sellers they are looking for, making it easy for them to get around.”

Although the show has a vast amount of categories to visit, Fashion and Accessories is now the largest category at ASD Market Week in the central hall, followed by General Merchandise located in the south upper hall. Within the Fashion and Accessories market you can find anything from handbags and jewelry to beauty brands, and the newly added Apparel section. These sections always have returning exhibitors who bring in new lines, colors and styles to each show. “There is a 17% growth in that square footage from March 2015. Now there are over 2,300 booths and 650 companies for Fashion and Accessories and Beauty and Fragrance,” noted Botts. “Out of those, there are 400 booths dedicated exclusively to Apparel.” In addition to the new section, the Fashion and Accessories category is also adding Shoe Parlor, which will provide a pavilion of affordable shoe brands for women, men and children.

ASD has the highest multi product-mix market in the country. By getting the opportunity to meet importers and manufacturers, you in turn will find the best deals that are current in style and quality. In addition to walking the show floor, ASD Market Week also offers keynotes and sessions to help attendees not only network, but also gain knowledge to further develop their business and selling tactics. The new ASD continues to redefine each product category to better merchandise the buyer shopping experience and be seen in a new light by attendees. “We have redefined ourselves from a closeout show to now being a relevant fashion and beauty event,” said Botts.

ASD Market Week provides hotel and travel information on their website and blocks off rooms specifically for guests of the show. They offer affordable hotel accommodations, and have shuttles to move attendees throughout the city.
