On Tuesday, August 13th, the OFFPRICE Show concluded its 50th landmark edition of the trade show, marking 25 years as a highly successful marketplace for buyers and sellers who focus on opportunity goods. The biannual four-day buying event took place at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, from August 10-13.
A strong international attendance of boutique owners from 60 different countries flowed steadily throughout the show floor, shopping a wider range of products than ever before. The show covered four areas of wholesale: apparel, footwear, cash and carry, and a newer Boutique area, open for its second year. Exhibiting companies included ANGIE, Ben Elias, Bermo and Cathaya.
“We had an outstanding show,” said Dennis Ryan, Director of Sales for Bioworld and exhibitor at OFFPRICE. “We brought in many new customers and new departments within our existing customer base. Our top selling products were licensed backpacks, t-shirts, caps and other back-to-school items that resonated well with buyers sourcing for the current season and their holiday needs.”
The returning Boutique area proved particularly popular, featuring elevated merchandise at slightly higher price points, and an expanded number of exhibitors. This followed after an overwhelmingly positive response at the show sections’s debut in February 2019.
“Our 50th trade show was a very special one,” said Tricia Barglof, OFFPRICE’s recently appointed Executive Director. “Over the last 25 years, our event has evolved alongside the retail landscape, and with the huge popularity of the Boutique area, now offers a wider range of products than ever before. The show is also becoming more international with each edition. Consumers are continuing to find value in buying off-price merchandise, and retailers who want to be successful in the years to come should include OFFPRICE Show in their business equation.”
To mark its quarter century in the retail industry, the OFFPRICE Show hosted an anniversary celebration on Sunday, August 11th. Around 50 Buyers and exhibitors attended the 90’s-inspired on-site event, which featured a break-dancing troupe and props inspired by the era, such as inflatable boom boxes, gold-colored chains, bucket caps, and more.
OFFPRICE also featured its first exhibitor selling beauty products in August and is hoping to develop the beauty channel for the February 2020 trade show. “Our OFFPRICE exhibitors are showcasing a wider variety of products and price points than ever before, and this will give our community the scope to continue to thrive. This is an exciting development and I look forward to taking this forward into the next show and beyond,” continued Barglof.
The next OFFPRICE Show will return to the Sands Convention Center from Monday, February 3rd to Thursday, February 6th, 2020. Online registration will open in the coming weeks. In the meantime, continue connecting with OFFPRICE exhibitors on www.offprice365.com.
