Import volume at all of the nation’s container ports is expected to rise by 16% this month, according to the National Retail Federation.
“Retailers have stocked up early on much of their holiday merchandise in order to avoid some of the supply chain disruptions seen earlier in the year,” NRF Vice President for Supply Chain and Customs Policy Jonathan Gold said in a statement.
But the Global Report Tracker issued by the NRF and Hackett Associates also notes that “2010 has already hit its peak and numbers will decline through the remainder of the year.”
