Value + Variety Expo, being held September 9 through 11 in New York, is a fourth quarter, regional value/variety merchandise and closeout show serving buyers in the Northeast U.S. Held at the Jacob Javits Center at 655 West 34th St., this annual event serves retailers, importers and distributors including general merchandise stores, discount/outlet stores, dollar stores, drug stores, electronics stores, grocery stores, hardware stores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs and many more. New York City is home to the single largest concentration of independent specialty retail stores in the U.S. The order-writing show draws about 4,000 attendees each year, with 85 percent of buyers coming from New York state, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Merchandise categories offer a wide variety including dollar store items, housewares, closeouts and liquidations, holiday and seasonal items, electronic and fashion accessories, home improvement, office/school supplies, gift, souvenirs and novelty items. Value + Variety Expo, produced by ASD, focuses on the segment of the market dedicated to value priced and year-end merchandise.
