Many women keep their phones accessible on the go by storing them inside their bras. Tami Lange became concerned when she noticed that her sister-in-law, a breast cancer survivor, was storing her phone in her bra. She realized there must be a safer alternative. However, not being able to find one, Tami set out to create the product herself.
Save the Girls is a line of fashionable and functional touch screen purses that keep cellphones accessible at all times. “The reception has been phenomenal!” says Tami. The product development phase meant lots of time in factories. “Putting a touch screen backing on a quality purse is actually really difficult,” explains Tami. “As far as purse designs, I design for convenience and function ability with styles you can wear year round. It’s been a winning combination of style and functionality.”
Tami’s innovative design lets people text, call, and scroll social media all while the phone is safe and secure in a Save the Girls purse. Tami says there is a huge demand for her product, and that they sell really well in retail stores. “Box stores and department stores do not have this product or anything similar, so it’s a great draw. Plus, it’s a unique product for boutiques to post on social media.”
The purses come in twelve different styles with six colors per style including vegan cruelty-free options and unique designs to appeal to women of all ages. Wholesale prices range from $12.49 – $19.99. Retailers can mix and match colors and styles in their orders. After an initial opening order, restock minimums are just $200. As an added bonus, the company donates 10 percent of profits to breast cancer research.
Save the Girls also offers retailers low-cost display solutions. But, Tami says that traditional basket and box displays also work well. Point-of-sale materials are provided with each order. However, Tami says “The best way to sell our products is to wear one and then show the customer how easy it is to use a touch screen purse. I have had at least 10 customers say they were able to sell everyone they waited on one of my purses in a given day.”
